Techia is graduation project of group of students from Mass Communication, English section, in Cairo universty, class 2024, They chose one of the most important problems that needs to spread awareness of its harms, Let's know about it..
"Techia" is acampaign that raising awareness about the side effects of e-waste, and how people can limit these effects by giving them a variety of solutions and these solutions will come under reduce, reuse,& recycling/up-cycling.
The e-waste includes alot of things such as batteries, hard disks, refrigerators, mobile phones,etc…..
The campaign consists of phases, at first they 've introduced the topic/issue, then right now they are publishing the main 3 aspects that are affected by e-waste which are (environment, health, and tourism), and lastly will introduce the solutions to their audience.
The ministry of environment and youth and sports are sponsoring the campaign in addition to other NGOs such as greenish, they depend more on visual appealing content and apply the storytelling technique on tiktok.
It’s also worth noting that Egypt produces 90 thousand tons of ewaste according to a statistics that was done on 2021 and this number increases annually.
This campaign is supervised by Dr. Eman Taher and T.A Asma Abd El- Raouf, in addition to a number of participating students: Hania Amr, Aya Magdy, Nyra Atef, Nardine Sameh, Mai Walid, Gamal El-Din Safwat, Farah Atef, Nada Walid, Ganna Ahmed, Mariem Tamer, Malak Mohamed, Alia Bilal, Sama Ashraf, Nouran Gawad, and Youstina Antar.
