MAD Solutions and El Gouna Film Festival present their annual awards at the Final Cut in Venice
As part of their annual presence at the Venice International Film Festival’s Final Cut, the 12th edition of which ran from September 1st to the 3rd, Arab Cinema Center (ACC) partners MAD Solutions — the MENA region’s leading film distribution, celebrity management, and PR agency — and the El Gouna Film Festival presented awards to Nadim Tabet’s IN THIS DARKNESS I SEE YOU, an Arab feature fiction film in the post-production phase.
MAD Solutions presented its annual award to Nadim Tabet’s IN THIS DARKNESS I SEE YOU, a joint production between Lebanon, France, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. The distribution grant offers international sales through MAD World and Arab World sales and distribution through MAD Distribution in collaboration with Film Clinic Indie Distribution, while El Gouna Film Festival awarded the same film a monetary grant and an invitation to participate in the CineGouna Platform.
For the 10th year in a row, MAD Solutions is offering in-kind awards that include either a $10,000 minimum guarantee for a feature-length fiction film or a $3,000 minimum guarantee for a feature-length documentary for marketing, publicity, and distribution in the Arab World, except for projects that already received funding from the company.
As for the El Gouna Film Festival, the Egyptian festival is offering a $5,000 grant in addition to an invitation to participate in its CineGouna Platform.
The award provided by MAD Solutions is one aspect of the company's long-term sponsorship and support strategy for Arab films throughout their various stages of production on both a worldwide and regional level.
Similar awards were presented by the company at the Festival National du Film Professional Meetings, Market Forum (MMF) of the Malmö Arab Film Festival, and Locarno International Film Festival.
When it comes to the El Gouna Film Festival, the festival provides monetary prizes for Arab film projects at several worldwide platforms including the Final Cut in Venice, Latin Arab Co-Production Forum, Beirut Cinema Platform, MAFF Market Forum (MMF) at Malmö, and more.
The 12th Final Cut in Venice’s selection this year includes films from Egypt, Lesotho, Lebanon, Morocco, and Mozambique, with a notable representation of films from Egypt, highlighting the country’s flourishing production scene.
