Her talent is a journey that she is destined to go through. A journey that brings only beauty of the sun to her eyes, and spots her hands with a piece of the blue ocean, and the golden desert. Every now and then, she gets rewarded a piece of her identity. Now, she knows her soul yearns for colours, and only knows peace when she waves the brush across the canvas. Noor Mosaad is a beauty maker and her speciality is art.

Noor Mosaad who is 22 years old, is a fresh graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University.

Apparently, art runs in the family. At a very young age, she was used to sneaking into art lessons tutored by her artist mother, where her mother taught her the pleasure of dipping her fingers in paint, and how to liberate herself of feelings and thought when she spread them across a sheet with colours. She became aware of the personal value of art, and learned to absorb its holiness.

For Noor, art was just a hobby for a long time, until she noticed how she feels whole with a painting brush in hand, and how art has become her safe haven; a zone to resort to in order to keep her spirits up, and a way to brighten up her moods when she feels gloomy. Then, she knew art is what she wants to do for life.

Though, that was not enough to feed her hunger for art. She would learn from YouTube tutorials, and after a lot of practice, she would master a technique. After finishing high school, her mother helped her go visit the campus of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and she could easily see herself walking with stacks of colours and paintings across the streets and up the stairs.

Noor was in the agony of knowing that art is the medium through which she can understand herself and express it, but not having enough knowledge and skills to do so. Knowing what she lacks, her heart yearned to be fulfilled, and her hands full of lines and colours to put on paper.

Thus, the Faculty helped Noor polish her artistic skills, and gave her more capacity to express herself, her feelings and thoughts, through the multitude of various techniques that fed her. Professor Abdulhamid Al-Jazzar, and professor Youssef Mekawy helped her the most to find her way across paper, and find her way back to herself through her paintings.

Sometimes, Noor feels restless to paint a certain feeling or thought and the only thing that gives her patience is music that is louder than her own mind voice that is so anxious. At other times, the need to draw comes to her like a delicate soft breeze, and she enjoys the soft music that imitates her calm mind state.

As an artist, different winds are ignited in Noor’s heart, that flows among the clouds free from fixed rules. Though, she has noticed a pattern in her painting that is the closest she has ever come to following rules, the rules of Romanticism and Realism.

The painting closest to her heart is “it was never Disney” ” ,لم تكن أبداً ديزنيwhich is her Graduation Project. It expresses Noor’s worry of exposing children to any content without parental guidance, and her worry of the Disney’s latest announcements that they would include homosexual characters in movies that are aimed at young children.

The painting discusses the influence of exposing children to such inappropriate ideas through the character of the child who wears a rainbow t-shirt and is walking towards them with no adults to stop him or help protect him against invading his mind with ideas that he receives unaware of their dangers. (الصورة هن ا Noor knew that she wants to help others learn to express themselves through paintings, filling up the void in their hearts. So, she started her career as art instructor in her 4th year in college in “LA Casa De Arte”, which is run by the artist Shrouk Yahya who helped Noor take her first steps in this field.

Though, after graduation, Noor started giving her own courses that accept students of all ages. With Noor, one can learn how to draw anime, silent nature, and portraits. She also teaches students how to mix colours, and draw shadows and shades of a character, with either pencils or crayons. One can reach out to her through this number 01012398757.

Matters like talent and art are not at all equal to grades or exams. They are much more important. They are what people spend their whole life trying to find. So even if you don’t end up in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Noor tells you to still seek out art as a life path.
