1. Eman, We are passionate to learn more about you.
I'm Dr Eman Al-Husseiny Al-Maddah, I studied at the Faculty of Archeology at Cairo University, I obtained a Master’s and doctorate degree. Then I was hired as a staff member at the Faculty of Archeology at Cairo University.
2. How did you get up with the idea of being a chef ?
The real inspiration came from my sister and partner Esraa, I started making food that would balance the quality of street food and the healthiness of the home-cooked food. After 6 months of launching the blog, we decided we wanted to turn the idea into something that serves the community; from here the idea of making the project “Gowa El7alla” evolved, teaching the blind and visually impaired women how to cook.
3. what are the main spotlights for this project ?
First, we joined a competition with Start Egypt Organization in 2020 as a business incubator in which we reached the semifinals. Then, we participated again as a business incubator with NAID affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Communications,
and we won the first place. We reached the peak in last week's competition “Pitch To Win” project at Techne Summit in Alexandria’s Library. With another team, we won among 200 participating teams in business incubators. “Gowa El7alla” was the most talented team that joined, so the organizers of the competition from Nile Pioneers University offered us to accelerate our business to qualify us for profits and income.
In addition, we participated in a competition sponsored by GIZ under the name “Impower her”. The competition was about how to support women and make them earn income while working at flexible time range that is suitable for women, we joined among 200 teams and we won one of the top four positions.
4. What are the challenges that faced you in this project?
The main challenge was the lack of awareness, particularly among the parents of visually impaired individuals.
5. Being a life coach, which is your specific specialisation?
I'm specialized in relationships, focusing on children, teenagers, girls, and women. I work on various relationship dynamics and I’ve accumulated over 1,000 hours of coaching experience.
6. What are you planning to do next ?
I plan to expand "Gowa el7alla" and I’m working on two literary books as well as a novel. And, I want to say a word as a conclusion for the recent generations who want everything to happen in the blink of an eye, life needs two important factors that I see no one pursuing; patience and contentment.
