The letters are always the same, but the workmanship differs with the creativity of each maker, the creator of today in the first grades, Youssef Al-Domouky.
Youssef Al-Domouky, 25 years old, is a young Egyptian writer. He graduated from the Faculty of Mass Communication at Marmara University, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. He works in journalism, content creation, and writing.
From his childhood, the press was associated with Youssef by writing.
Youssef felt a connection between them. He thought that it was a
“workmanship” link sometimes, but time proved his mistake, and that the link that brought them together is perhaps the noble goal, and the precious message, we can write for nothing, and work With journalism for the same reason, the goal is to live with a good salary only, but with the addition of some ingredients, the profession, hobby, and talent are in a more noble framework.
I still can't believe seeing Youssef like this, after everything that happened to him so full of optimism, steadfastness, and clinging to the truth as a weapon after everything he faced. The difficulties that Youssef faced are many, without comparing them to anyone, but they are indeed many and great, of a difficult kind, ranging from false accusations, prisons, attending difficult and horrific scenes, alienation, travel, long ordeal, and longer loneliness, until his books were banned from publishing in Egypt.
Domouky says:
“I do not know how to overcome all of this, nor how I overcame what I overcame, but it is Allah’s kindness first, then the help of those who love me, and my family, until Allah blessed me with meeting the one who became my wife, and she was the best of help and solace, Allah willing and thank Allah, but I am indebted for These great incidents are all good, so I claim that they have polished writing for me, more than anything, and made it heavier for me, and at the same time made the pen more light and smooth in its movement, flexibility and fitness. They flee from their interior with seas of words."
Writing is not a monopoly, everyone can write, but some become writers, either because it is God’s gift to them, or because they strive to approach this “craft” and compete with their diligence, the talented, until they almost outrun the lazy with talents.
What are the steps of writing, for someone who has talent, or who has a deep belief that he is capable of the task of writing? According to my opinion, as a young man and a wayfarer knocking on the doors of literature, the writer goes through five stages until he reaches the first letter he writes. which is next:
First: Reading the lines when a person reads what is between his hands of good literature, or good culture, and understands the general outline, and good literature I mean by it that has been well received by people, for its linguistic and moral that’s richness, and literary goodness, as we see in many, from the writings of professors Naguib Mahfouz Al-Rafi’i, Al-Akkad, AlManfaluti, Khairy Shalaby, Muhammad Abdul Halim Abdullah, Gibran Khalil Gibran, Ghassan Kanafani, Radwa Ashour, Murid Al-Barghouti, and many others, as well as well-translated literature.
Secondly: Reading between the lines is that the reader pays attention to what the writer wants between the lines, understands what he did not write, and picks up what was alluded to, so that he will be answerable to an intelligent person, and then the path of mastery in reading has begun.
Third: Writing what he sees. The person who wants to write writes what he sees, describing the tree, the stones, the scenes, the events, and the people, describing the feelings on their faces, the features affected by what is happening around them, what he saw of experiences, and the things he lived through, until he mastered “description.”
Fourth: Writing what he does not see by starting at the stage of writing what is hidden from him, describing what is inside people and not what is in their features, infiltrating beyond events, perfecting the allusion, and keeping between the lines the statement, and not pouring what he wants at once, but rather separating it until A good reader picks it up, without wasting the text from the first line.
Fifthly: to make fiction and then write it. In the fifth stage, the writer masters the process of imagination, imagining beyond everything, but here, he makes the world, supposes, imagines, builds a parallel universe, creates its characters, arranges its events and complexities, makes its plot and distributes roles in it. And then, one can cross his talent, to the shore of writing. Then what follows is not the land, but the sea.
Youssef sees the task of writing as a sacred task, during which the writer lives a life in letters greater than what he lived in numbers, meaning he lives by what people record of his words and phrases in their hearts and minds and even on their walls, not by what is written in numbers between the dates of birth and death at the Civil Registry Authority. And the writer with his pen can move armies, liberate peoples, preserve the right, perish the wrong, and be himself a hero, because he does not give his words for free, nor does he receive any profits for them, but rather he pays - on top of his writing - taxes that he knows well, which may not stop at his insomnia The night nor the worry of the day, but the whole life was lost, the soul departed, and the blood was expelled, for the sake of a word he wrote or a letter he wrote.
Youssef tells us the verse that he always sees in front of his eyes is the whole Qur’an, he finds it in many places, in many forms, the verses of affliction, the verses of consolation, the verses of joy, the verses of command, the verses of prohibition, the verses calling for piety, the verses of mercy, the verses of forgiveness, and the verses of patience And jihad, and the verses of jihad and stationing, and the verses of people, marriage, children, sons and parents, and the signs of Allah that you see on the faces of some, and that you see in other places and times, I feel today if I say that the verse “And whoever fears Allah makes him a way out”, }و مَنْ يتقِ الله يجعل له مخرجًا{, is my sign that I always see in front of my eyes On the same day, I will see other verses, each of which I consider to be the verses that move me the most.
As a young woman who adores Domoki's writings, I asked him for advice to young men and women. He said modestly: “I do not have the power to advise the young people, and I am one of them, to order what they are going through, and to stand a little higher than them in order to address them, but I advise myself and them, that this period is passing, and it is not a condition that you perform a miracle during it, and I will not tell you that your psychological peace is sufficient, on the contrary, The most important thing that you can get out with is your work and diligence, and Allah,s satisfaction with you before them. Your hearts are for good people like you, and your forearms are strengthened in the face of the world.
Domouky concluded the conversation by saying:
“In the end, I think that what others may see me in, and I am not as innocent as they see me, Allah knows the secrets and what the breasts hide, Allah forgive us all, it is the product of raising my family first, praise be to Allah, and the diligence of my beloved, my father and mother, in making a lot of me, as well as The trials, my studies in the noble Al-Azhar edifice, and the Refinement of the Qura'n is my language and thought, and then when I met my wife, he did this and is still doing, praise be to Allah, a lot.”
Everything in life is written for you to walk, but how are you going to walk it?! The decision is up to you.
